I like adding a new wine cork ornament to my Christmas Tree each year. These ornaments make great gifts, lovely decorations and help to empty out my ever growing cork collection. These Snowmen Ornaments are adorable, and look so cute on the tree! They are easy enough that they could be a fun craft for kids too.
MATERIALS
- Wine Corks
- White, Black and Orange Paint
- Black Puff Paint
- Felt or Fabric
- Black Pipe Cleaners
- Toothpicks
- Metal Hook Eyes
- Ribbon or Twine
- Hot Glue Gun
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
Start by painting 3/4 of each cork white. The synthetic corks don’t absorb the paint very well, but I liked the streaky look. Let the cork dry, and paint the top 1/4 black.
Cut the felt or fabric into skinny strips to make the scarves. Use hot glue to attach the scarf to each snowman.
Cut the black pipe cleaner into thirds and hot glue onto snowmen to make the brim of each hat.
Paint the tips of each toothpick with the orange paint. Once dry, break off the tips and hot glue to the snowmen for the carrot nose. Be careful – the toothpicks go flying when you break them!
Use the puff paint to paint eyes and buttons on the snowmen. Push a metal eye into the top of each cork and use ribbon or twine to hang them on your tree!
These snowmen are easy to make and look great in groups on your tree or by themselves on top of a present.
